Acquario di Genova I - June 2002

by George J. Reclos

It claims to be Europe's largest public aquarium and it seems it is true. A good three hours are needed to make a complete tour of it.

This is what everybody dreams of. A tropical reef lagoon. Measuring 25 x 12 meters it holds approximately 450 tons of water and rocks (450.000 liters) offering the possibility to house many big species which will live in harmony.

This is what the viewer sees. A thick (more than 150mm) acrylic front  is used in most of the tanks and offers great visibility.
