The characteristic of this species is the presence of seven or eight bands of light spots on both sides of the body. Between the front of the dorsal fin and the head, a mottled pattern arises which becomes finer the closer one approached the tip of the snout. Basic body color is dark gray. Final size: 6 cm. Temperature : 23-28 C (a better companion for discus than most Corydoras species). The female, as with all Corydoras is wider and longer than the male. Tank decoration should consist of fine sand as gravel and many shaded places. Plants will not be harmed although a bogwood decoration may offer more possibilities. A shoaling fish - should not be kept solitarily or in pairs.

Spawning conditions Sex ratio : in pairs or 2 males to 1 female. Temperature : 25-27oC. Size of eggs: 1.8 mm. Hatched: at 25oC after 4 days. Food is first taken after 2 to 3 days. Total number of eggs : 30 - 150.

In this case I would like to share with you a very interesting and informational book; one of the best I have read. Written by Werner Seuss, entitled  "Corydoras" and published by Daehne Verlag it is an excellent book which will help you understand many things about those small armored catfishes.
