Click on the images to see the high resolution pictures. Photos by G.J. Reclos/MCH - January 2006 A Ptychochromis sp. "mangarahara", donated by Sonia Guinane in my tank. This fish is extremely shy. A total of ten specimens travelled to Greece and were divided in two groups of 5 fish, each in a 100 liter tank with heavy decoration (stones and bogwood up to the surface, with large crevices every now and then). During the first month we could rarely see one fish in each tank. Lately, we can see 2-3 of them in each tank, especially when feeding is long overdue. This species is thought to be extinct in the wild.
