Flowering Cacti and other Succulents II

Francesco and Stefania, Rome, Italy

Lithops sp.

These pics were shot during George’s visit in Italy (September 2002) for the AIC annual auction.

Overall view (up)

Details of a yellow flower of an unidentified species (up)

Another overall view of the plant (Up)

Details of its shining white flower (up)

FOOTNOTE: All plants of the genus Lithops originate from South Africa, and are known by the common name of "living stones", looking at the pictured plants should be easy to guess why!!! All Lithops are considered "fairly difficult" to keep (at least, in the passed years, I faced a lot of troubles during my attempts).

Many thanks to Carli De Busk for her editorial help.

See next page for more photos of cacti flowers
