PUNDAMILIA NYEREREI

LAKE
VICTORIA

PUNDAMILIA NYEREREI
(HAPLOCHROMIS NYEREREI)

What I always tell myself all these years I am enjoying the hobby of photography (more than 20 years now) is that a great shot can be taken only when the photographer feels great, the setup is correct and God wants the picture to be taken. I must confess that this photo has many elements that prove exactly that. The position of the fish, the background colors which complement its colors, the absence of other fish. One of the best shots of this species I have ever seen. Photo: March 2000. The photo below shows the same male but not in its displaying dress. Note the faint black bars on the side and the much lighter yellow which doesn't have a "greenish" hue (mainly towards its tail).

Photo: April 2000.
