"Dr. Reclos' site is an outstanding example of how a
hobbyist page can grow into a valuable resource. Of course, it
doesn't hurt to start out with some great tanks, the largest of
which is an impressive 340 gallons! (1300 Liters) While keeping his
goldfish, catfish, mollies, and Malawi cichlids (Mbuna and
non-Mbuna), Dr. Reclos has amassed a collection of high quality
pictures and personal info on most of the fish he has kept. Anyone
who is interested in keeping Malawi Cichlids should definitely spend
some quality time going through this site. You will come away with a
wealth of knowledge, and a great appreciation for just how much is
possible in the hobby of fishkeeping with a little time and effort."

"Hi. my name is Beth Bianculli and I am the photo editor for
www.petplace.com I saw the photo of your loach on your site and was wondering if we
could use
it to go with a story we are doing on loaches.
please email me as soon as it is possible."
i found the site:
http://www.rddiagnostics.com/aquarium/index.html
very interesting, it contains a lot of useful information,
thanks !!!
I would to ask a question about fertilization of a 500 litres mbuna
planted tank, the tank is quite big and i don't want spend too much
in
fertilization, what is a good fertilizer with a low monthly cost ?
thanks in advance for your time. Bye, Domenico Ruggeri
Dear George,
I was ecstatic to hear that you are a
pharmacist and immunologist! I work at a pharmacy and my
co-workers aren't sure of some of the validity of the medications
and their effectiveness on fish. Boy are they going to be
surprised lol!
Thanks for the update too!

Yasou,
A great job, George. Thanks for doing my article. Your home page is
one
of the best. Very informative. Stay in touch. If you need any other
info, email me. It's time you visited Canada and the States. There
is
plenty to see in tropical fish.
Peter Orphanos, Ontario, Canada
On the topic of spawning I must say that your
last month's article on
"Raising the Fry" is a first class piece of reading. It's
the best by
far including talks I've listened to on fry and techniques to
follow.
Since it came out I've increased my feedings to 4-5 times a day and
water changes to every 2 days at up to 50%. The increased spurt in
growth is readily visible. Thanks for a great article and I look
forward
to more valuable insight articles on your site. Without a doubt your
site is the most informative that I've been able to track down on
the
web. You people putting it together deserve all and any awards that
are
available for such terrific work. Please continue to find the time
to
continue to make your site the best on the web. Dale Pautler,
Canada
Hey Reklos.
I have visited your joint homepage
several times, and it just gets better each time!! It's a great idea which I intend to
try here in Denmark if any interest... I have a homepage, which is only in
danish, but in due time there will be text in english as well.
Many regards Flemming
Congratulations your site has won the 123spot
Animal Site Award! You have
put a lot of work into your site and it is very informative and
helpful,
keep up the great work!
You explained the process of medication very
clearly and you should be
proud that you can share this information with the aquarium world,
it
should be a help to many who do not fully understand the medication
process. I know that you reiterated in my mind what I knew
but really
didn't think about it.
Best Fishes,

Every of us thanks you in advance.
Very interesting web page, one of the best I could find in the net .

I have been reading your webpage for a few hours
now, and I was pleased to
find that I can increase the hardness of the water for my cichlids
by adding bi-carb - something which I didn't know. My ph is currently
7.4, and I
would like to raise it. My tank is 300 litres, so from what I
read I would
need to add 2 tablespoons. How do I go about this?
Gradually or in one
hit? Should I dissolve it first? Should i add it when I do a
water change
rather than just adding to the current water? What is the best
way to do
this without stressing the fish out? I would appreciate any
infomation on
this.
Something else which I found really helpful was the disease page. I have
recently lost 2 fish, with a third showing the symptoms of bloating
which
killed the other two. Even though I am still not 100% sure of
whats wrong,
and neither is the aquarium shop, I am treating the tank with
Melafix. From
what I read its a bacterial infection of some description. I
think the sick
fish is doing better, but I will be watching closely over the next
couple of
days.
Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive page on cichilds.

RAM magazine, January 2001. "Since we are talking
about the web, I will list some interesting sites I visited
lately. Always appealing, even to those who do not keep fish, the
website on aquariums and exotic fish at www.rddiagnostics.com/aquaria.html
"
Having been involved in fish keeping for just a short period of
time, starting as I am sure many people do, with just a small tank
and the regular species that are available to us on the hobby level,
I discovered the joys of watching our friends swimming in my living
room. It didn't take me long to realise that bright plastic plants
and an un-educated assortment of fish, kept in a tank with no regard
for their individual requirements, was not going to keep me happy
for long.
I
have in the last year or so found myself being drawn more and more
to the African cichlids for reasons not yet completely clear to me,
behaviour patterns, coloring, form of the fish and the parenting
behaviour are what springs to mind. I knew that I would want to make
a tank as natural as possible but being in America and considering
to reproduce an eco-system from Africa seemed impossible.
Tonight I found your fabulous collection at
www.malawicichlidhomepage.com
I
am sincerely dumbfounded, absolutely awestruck. I wanted to say
thank you, just in the short period of time that I have been able to
browse the site I have had some of my questions answered. For
example Labidochromis caeruleus in the same tank as my melanochromis
auratus? I had just recently decided not, since the auratus just
seemed to be so overpowering, but now I realise it is my mistake for
not giving the correct environment.
I
will be a frequent visitor, that much I can guarantee. I want to say
thank you, a wonderful inspiring site.
Kindly, Boyd
