Botia lohachata  

This peaceful loach came from north India and are easily kept in any community tank. Its final size can reach 12,5 cm but in the confines of an aquarium  maybe a little less. A pH between 6,0 and 7,4 is a good option for them and the temperature should be between 24-28 C.

Most aquarists suggest to keep them in groups of 3, but I have not experienced any problems keeping them single. I have one of them in each planted tank I have and finally found a natural way to solve my snail problem since they like to eat them and their eggs.
