LDA016 Brown pleco

New Photos - February 2005

The LDA016 does one of the strangest things I have seen. It will occasionally just lie down with its back on the substrate and if nobody passes close to its tank it will stay there for a long time, as if taking a "human" nap. Unfortunately, at the moment it realizes you are getting closer it will rapidly disappear under its wood. However, this time it was not fast enough. Click on the images to see the high resolution photos. Photos by G.J.Reclos/MCH

A cute little catfish from Brazil. This is a full grown specimen (10 cm) which lives in a planted tank with five Xiphophorus variatus (the Tuxedo platy form).
