Polypterus palmas (Marbled Bichir)

polypterus palmas Preferred water parameters: pH : 6.0-7.0 (acidic to neutral); GH : 5; KH : 0-6. Final Total Length : up to 32 cm. Social behavior : usually peaceful with the other nocturnal fishes (see also "tankmates"). Sexual differences : the female is usually a bit larger. There is also a different in the anal and caudal fins but only for experts. Feeding needs : carnivorous. Recommended tankmates : Large, non aggressive fishes. Recommended minimum aquarium size : 100+ lt. Origin : central Africa
