My future 4000L tank

Last year my wife Hilde and I decided to rebuild our kitchen. We both had different approaches of how this room should have to look like and discussed for weeks. Finally I came up with the idea of joining 2 rooms by breaking down walls and use one half of the smallest one for building a new tank. Although I didn't expect it, this idea got an immediate approval from both of us. A massive 4000L plywood aquarium will be built against one of the walls. I hope to finish this project before the end of 2002.

At the moment the 200L Mbuna tank occupies a small part of future's 4000L footprint

All service equipment is already in place: a 50mm drain for fast waterchanges. a thermostatic water tap and connections to hook up the central heating. Also a separate electrical circuit is provided.

A view from the side. As the tank will have a hood up to the ceiling, this will become the service opening

All service equipment already in place.
